SlateWright
Privacy policy
SlateWright is a Mac app made by Cenan Ozen (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your recordings and projects stay on your Mac. We don’t collect, receive, or sell your personal data, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking.
Your recordings
SlateWright records the screen content you select. You can also choose to record system audio, microphone audio, and camera video. Projects, recordings, edits, and imported project assets are stored in the app’s container on your Mac. Exports are saved to a location you choose or copied to your clipboard. None of this is uploaded to us.
Permissions
SlateWright uses Apple’s system picker to let you choose what to capture. macOS may ask for access to screen recording, the microphone, or the camera depending on the features you use. You can manage these permissions at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
Captions
When you choose to generate captions, SlateWright transcribes the selected audio on your Mac using Apple’s on-device speech recognition. The audio isn’t sent to us. The first time you use a language, macOS may download its speech model from Apple. Captions are saved with your project.
Purchases
SlateWright Pro is sold as an in-app purchase through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether Pro is unlocked. We don’t receive your payment details. Apple’s handling of that information is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Managing your projects
You can delete projects from the Projects screen. Deleting a project removes its original capture and edits from the app’s project storage. Copies you exported or otherwise saved separately are managed by you. Uninstalling SlateWright and removing its container deletes all remaining project data.

If you email us for support, we use your message and email address only to reply to you, and we don’t share them with anyone else.
Children
SlateWright doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
